On a Holy Shit scale of 1-10, I'll give this sucker an 11. HIGHEST recommendation.
A full wall of sound that envelopes you and leaves you feeling like you have been transferred back in time to an early Hawkwind, or Grateful Dead gig.
#1 Best album of the month September 2014.
It's not easy to return to normal life after this incredible good experience, or to other music.
Spectacularly lush and inventive psychedelic soundscapes
Best album of the year by a mile.
Could be one of the top releases in 2014.
#8 in the top 20 albums for the month.
Um dos melhores discos de 2014 está aqui. (translation)
Best band and album October 2014.
3rd Ear Experience certainly will please every fan of unbounded psychedelic and space rock.
This is energetic and powerful. Like all good space music.
Stoner rock meets space rock meets world music.
Space Rock at its best, powerful and expressive.
3rd Ear Experience reaches beyond the customary rock and jam band stratum. At times defined as space rock or experimental rock, listeners are finding there really is no limit to the band's horizons.
When driving through the Mojave Desert the road seems to go on forever, and a certain trance-like awareness takes over. Now and again, a volcanic rocky outcrop will sidle up to you and whisper timeless tales into your mind, like an ancient mariner. Then you are alone again as the road serpentines into wide vistas and distances, carrying you along on its hypnotic shoulders. You will not remember when the shaman climbed into your car to sit silently next to you, like a hitchhiker who will vanish before you reach the next sun-broken desert town. And then there is the voluptuous night sky, with its myriad stars arching over the great darkness, continuously reminding the poet and the musician of the infinite nature of all things. These are the carving tools 3rd Ear Experience uses to sculpt music from the silence.
"3rd Ear Experience certainly will please every fan of unbounded psychedelic and space rock."
INCREDIBLE GOOD FORTUNE is the third album by 3rd Ear Experience. Once again the band delivers a sonic journey of epic proportions recorded live in the Furst Wurld Performance and Art Gallery in the Mojave desert. The album title is taken from a book of poetry by science fiction writer Ursula K. Le Guin.
"3rd Ear Experience reaches beyond the customary rock and jam band stratum. At times defined as space rock or experimental rock, listeners are finding there really is no limit to the band's horizons."
The word 'experience' is really the key here. The music is a guide to your imagination. It conjures images and feelings like a good movie soundtrack. Only YOU are the final writer surfing the cosmos on an ocean of tonal colors and sound.
"This is energetic and powerful - like all good space music."
2013 - 2014 saw the band attracting favorable press internationally and, most notably, by The Eclipsed magazine who voted 3rd Ear Experience's BOI album 18th of the 100 best albums of the year.
The band was also honored to open for the Swedish stoner band, the Truckfighters, on their 2013 USA tour.
Robbi is quick to acknowledge that he has experienced incredible good fortune in his musical journey. Fortunate to have been exposed to African shamanic rites as a teenager, to have been soaked in Indian music due to his mother running a Tibetan center, to have been the only white guy in an 8 piece jazz band where he lived illegally in the South African townships and reservations, to having achieved legend status with his 3 piece rebel punk band, the Asylum Kids, to have broken new ground in world music with his African acid outfit, Tribe After Tribe, to have toured the world, including opening up for Pearl Jam, to have recorded 2 albums with Jeff Ament called Three Fish which was heavily influenced by Sufi music and to have co created 3 innovative kirtan based albums with his wife Amritakripa. In 3rd Ear Experience a revitalized Robb has found a place to allow all this incredible good fortune to flourish.
