Hi All --

Amara here (my first post) ... thanks, Andre, for providing this forum!

Thomas and I were fortunate to receive an advance copy of MOAB, the new TAT album, and I feel compelled to share my experience. Too bad anything I write seems more of a shadow than a reflection. I'll try anyway though ... if nothing else, as a thank-you to Robbi for being willing to look deeply where most of us refuse to even glance.

First of all, listening is a richer experience when we hold that the album is one piece. While any of the songs can stand alone, it's definitely an epic journey, beginning to end.

There are soooo many layers of meaning richly interwoven ... There are the passages from Deuteronomy, shocking in their stark brutality; there's the overall focus on the many reasons for man's inhumanity to man (and nature) -- god, greed, basic fear; then, on a very real, personal level, there's the chronicling of Robbi's perceptions and experiences as a champion (my word) of the anti-apartheid movement in South Africa, to his coming to America seeking, and receiving political asylum -- or so it would seem. What came across for me was Robbi's cold realization that, at the end of it all, the battlefront is everywhere -- outside, over there, and within. There is no asylum, there is no escape. We're all in it, and a part of it, whether we want to see it or not.

Okay, enough for the mental notes ... on an emotional level, a spattering of words seems the only fitting thing -- compelling, evocative, moving, mature, masterfully played, layered, mixed ... did I say moving? A true feast.

Thomas and I had the strangest experience after our first listening to MOAB. The only thing fitting was silence, or another listen! And so it's been for days. I have to say, I would much rather have shared my experience by giving you a listen but, oh, well, this will have to do for now. It'll be out soon ...

Hi, Amara. Thanks for the delightful post. I can't wait to hear the new album! Robbi is definitely a visionary and has so much to say. I would love to meet him one day.

Thanks Andre for the samples. MOAB is sounding good.

I play "Pearls Before the Swine" album alot, and love the more mellow tracks. Can you recommend any other of Robbi's albums that I may enjoy?

Are there any samples of "Enchanted Entrance" to hear?

Got mine today!! Thanks Kripa!
A taste of the old, with a new twist toward the issues of today. Sound is great. Nice job boys and girls. I relly like Truth and Reconciliation, Understand the Water and Red Sky. I am anxious to see this stuff done live and how that improv works out. It's never the same twice right? Proves once more who trhe best bamnd in the world is for sure.

PS Andre I can barely read the forum with black backround and grey lettering.

What a wonderful album this has turned out to be. I love the power that it possesses, putting me somewhere right into a war of sound. Each time I listen to MOAB I get a whole new feel and better outlook on the album as a whole. Very powerful, moving stuff.

Jon and I were delighted to get our autographed copy in the mail. It is definitely an item we cherish and keep on our shelf high for all to see and hear. Wonderful job with this gem.

Yeah, there are quite a bunch of reviews online. Most of them are written in German so I have get them translated to English before I post them here on the website. If somebody wants to help me out with this struggle .. here I am :)
