"BOI", the new album by Third Ear Experience is available NOW!
Check out the "BOI" website. Have a look! Don't miss the sound samples.
"BOI" is available on Amazon.com or Amazon.de and probably a helluva lot of other spaces, too!
A few weeks ago I created a little "electronic press kit" for the "Peacock Black" album. It's here: "Peacock Black" EPK. Have a look!
In the meantime, Robbi added the four songs from the album to the SoundAwesome.com website, a music community dedicated to the support and promotion of new, original music.
Oh, and another very good review of "Peacock Black" by the Third Ear Experience is online now! Enjoy!
A first review of "Peacock Black" by the Third Ear Experience just appeared on the internet!
Enjoy!
I'm excited to present: "Peacock Black" by the Third Ear Experience! Please note this this album is NOT the one featured at the little Third Ear Experience site I mentioned in my post from February! This is a complete different album .. by the same band. This piece is a 4-song monster but it still more than one hour of music! It's an instrumental album with psychedelic elements, ambient elements, grooves, quiet parts, tribal elements, etc .. it's journey! And I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as I do!
Simply put, this album weaves its own magic spell. Each piece is a mystical, impressionistic soundscape, a kaleidoscope of atmospheres that drift and meander like incense smoke caught in candlelight. From the get go, it is perfectly clear that these are excellent musicians at the top of their game, rebellious and unafraid. Wasting no time, the music suddenly bursts into a dense dazzling jam, drawing the listener into a pulsating, rhythmic foundation with no edges to hold on to. Motifs are hurled from one instrument to the next, cleaving idea to idea, from moment to moment, exploding with life and outrageous creativity. It is free music, unfettered and uncontainable. Then we are gently moved off into a more mysterious territory - part ambient, part rock, at times transitory, at times elegantly psychedelic with rhythms that are barely present. Integral to the seemingly loose jams is the musical interplay between the various members, exchanging riffs, whispering melodies ear to ear, weaving themes peaceful and restless, deconstructing tonalities in favor of foreboding ambiances. Building and peaking and returning to silence, these long tracks flow with a consistent spiritual quality that guides the musicians to carve unique musical forms, with finesse an ethereal beauty, from the well mined quarry of space rock.
3rd Ear Experience was formed by AmritaKripa and Robbi Robb as a means of documenting and sharing their experimental psychedelic space jams. Held at various locations in the Mojave Desert, the sessions might feature different players but the core music always arises out of spontaneous musical interaction with friends and musicians of like mind.
Peacock Black sessions were set up at the Furst Wurld Art and Performance Gallery. Simple recording equipment was brought in and the band, comprising of Dug Pinnick, Robbi Robb, Amritakripa, Eric Ryan, Alan Swanson and Eric Mouness, set up in a full circle around the gallery. Artists were invited to come and create art while the band jammed. Bobby Furst, the gallery owner, projected avante garde films onto a 30 foot screen. These four pieces are the first fruits of the sessions that continued for three days and nights. Later the tracks were brought in to Star Lane studios in Joshua Tree to do some editing and saxophone and didgeridoo overdubs with Aaron Merc and Kurosh Showghi.
Joshua Tree is a little village in the Mojave Desert with a small community comprised of known and unknown musicians, artist, dancers, farmers, film makers and astronomers. It is in this community that Robbi and Kripa discovered musical freedom. "It never felt right to play pre-arranged music in the desert under the star studded night sky" says Kripa "and so we abandoned formal arrangements and allowed the music to flow though us in a cosmic sonic dialogue between fellow musicians and stargazers". "The chief composer" says Robb, "is the art of listening with the third ear - in consort with a refined patience to express and interpret the sonic signals that arise from within as a result of being in the vastness of the desert beneath the voluptuous night sky".
It's been a while. I wasn't lazy, though. Robbi asked me to work on an electronic press kit thing for the "Third Ear Experience" project, that very project featuring Robbi, Dug Pinnick, Amritakripa among others. It used to be a "hidden" little website for labels and festival organizers, only.
Anyhow, Robbi just made it public (on Tribe After Tribe's Facebook page), so I guess it's fine to make it public here, too. So .. have a look at this little website. It contains biographies of all band members, sound samples to every single song and a bunch of photographs. Enjoy!
No tribal news, but Robbi just wrote this:
"With Assange holed up in the embassy - with Pussy Riot's members in prison, and two in hiding for sharing information and or speaking out against injustices gets me to thinking how fortunate I was and how grateful I am that I, a wild and angry rebel, made it out of South Africa safely while the country was in a 'state of emergency' - that I got safe passage to America and was granted political asylum. I know the cold fear in the solar-plexus of a rebel in hiding while the cops swarm the area like their dogs sniffing for a scent of you I know this feeling from experience and my heart pours out to all rebels who are right now going through that terror. I pray that someday the 'state of emergency' will be lifted from this world."
Robbi just posted this on Tribe After Tribes Facebook page:
"I met a publicist recently who worked for Sony in Europe - and he told me that when the Three Fish album was released he was assigned to the project and was given the order by the top executives in the company to 'make it LOOK good'. This order was initiated in the Sony America's offices. What that meant was that they just had to do the least possible work so that it 'looks' like work is being done. They actually wanted the project to 'not succeed'. Apparently the New York lawyers and company men were afraid that the first Three Fish album would take off and break Pearl Jam up. It was a time when the band were not getting along as it was and the whole Pearl Jam machine was about to come apart. So the idea was to promote Three Fish in such a way so as to fool Jeff into thinking they were doing a good job ... 'now the man in the suit has just bought a new car from the profit he made on your dreams'."
It's been a while since the last update. So .. let me tell you that the songs from Robbi's next output in collaboration with Dug Pinnick sound damn good! Robbi sent me half a dozen of rough mixes and left me kind of speechless. Very promising rock! And it seems they also found a label. So that's good news all around, right?
In the meantime, Robbi asked me to introduce you to two events he'll be playing this month. The "Echo People" is his new space rock band with Tony and Al (who joined
the Tribe at the Herzberg Festival 3 years ago), Amritakripa and a drummer called Shiggs.
From Robbi: "Barry's gone now ... "Peace out" as he used to say ... peace out."
RIP, Barry!
From Robbi: "Sad news: Barry Schneider, Tribe's first American drummer, who coined the term "African Acid Rock" and handled drums on Tribe's 1st Megaforce release has slipped into a coma. Please send positive thoughts to him ... and long life to you all."
Last month I told you about the comeback of the Asylum Kids! And now, I'm extremely proud to share a link with you Letter 1 (a letter written to Mr Julius Malema). Enjoy!
And there's more: Dug Pinnick returned to Robbi's place in order to write lyrics for the musical collaboration between Dug and Robbi. Again, enjoy!
And last but not least: November 11, 2011 marked the day of the first album release of Rock Art, a Psychedelic Tribal Space Rock act of Joshua Tree. Rock Art is Teddy Quinn, Amritakripa and Robbi Robb! One more time: enjoy!
The Asylum Kids are back!
Facebook members who like The Asylum Kids could read quite a bunch of intesting entries. It all started with "okay so all i know is: Steve has extended his stay > dino will pick him up on sunday night and bring him to the desert > robbi will be preparing the studio.....mmmm whats gonna happen???" and ended with "okay well let me tell you - that was one of the most incredible music experiences of my life, absolutely unbelievable!! - more on this later - steve gone back to hawaii and dino gone back to L.A. - i was up till the wee hours of the morning listening over and over to that tracks - this was soo much more that i could have even imagined!
No sound samples yet, but I'm positive I can present one or two soon! Stay tuned!
You probably followed Robbi's blog and saw that he was pretty active with his solo effort called "Love". But in the last few weeks you haven't noticed any update there, right? That's because Robbi turned his house into a live studio in order to record new African rock monster tracks for Tribe After Tribe! You remember Dug Pinnick and Butch Carlson from their work on the "Pearls Before Swine" album? They're back recording music with Robbi! And there's Alan (keyboards) and Trent (percussion). And let me tell you: it sounds fantastic!
The message board on robbirobb.com is no more! It got replaced by a blog that features entries by Robbi himself. He'll be using this blog in order to document the progress on his first solo effort, the "Love" album. Stay tuned!
It's about time for an update! Robbi has been busy keeping us up to date (via Facebook) regarding his work on his next album called 'Love'. If you're not part of that network, you might want to check out this:
"Making Love. A documentary. The new album called LOVE I am working on will be documented from begin to end, including the song writing process which is usually done in solitude. The process will be manifested with the help of many wonderful musical friends. For the non musicians here now is an opportunity for u to witness a body of music being born from silence and taken to completion. Hope you enjoy it."
Now that's a cool pic, eh? If you're a friend of Dug Pinnick on Facebook or a fan of Tribe After Tribe on that social network,
then you'll have noticed that Dug Pinnick is visiting Robbi at his and Kripas place right now. And it surely looks as if they have
lots of fun.
By the way .. I know only one more photograph that shows Dug & Robbi. It was taken in 1997 (by me) when I witnessed my first Tribe After Tribe gig in my life. What a fantastic gig it was .. here's a link to the photo.
In other news, I'm sorry but "The Lion's Share" hasn't been released yet. I received the wrong release date. According to the record labels updated site the release date is November 11. That's pretty soon, yeehaw!
Dear fans and friends of Robbi,
I'm extremely sorry for the lack of updates on this site. As you can see, I haven't touched this site for way too long. One reason for this was the lack of news, actually. In the last few weeks there were news though, but I just couldn't motivate myself to work on this site because of a permanent headache that ruined my daily life. It's getting better, slowly. And, there's news I really need to share with you:
Today, "The Lion's Share" got released in South Africa. It's a compilation of Robbis favorite Tribe After Tribe tracks including
tracks like "Hold On", "Holy City Warrior", "Eloise" and "The Mode".
I still have to find out how people outside of South Africa can get their hands on a copy. As soon as I know more, I'll let you know.
It is available! It finally is available!! I'm talking about Tribe After Tribe's first live album. I just added it to the tribal Albums page. Make sure you also check out the audio samples.
Oh, you can buy the album here. If that gets too difficult for fans outside Germany/Europe .. the album will be available on CD Baby, too. Soon ..
In other news: Longtime Tribe fan and friend John Veikos wrote a few lines about the Herzberg Party that you might want to check out!
Two days ago, Tribe After Tribe rocked the Herzberg Party in Hamburg, Germany. A review will follow soon, but in the meantime, enjoy the photos that I took. I uploaded a bunch of them Media section of Tribe After Tribe. Have fun!
Oh, it's been a while. Nothing extraordinary happened, this is just a reminder that Tribe After Tribe will will headline the "Herzberg Party" @ The Fabrik in Hamburg (Germany) on Saturday! I want to see you there!!!
Tribe After Tribe will appear in their classic line-up: Robbi Robb (guitar and vocals), Dino Archon (bass), Richard Stuverud (drums). But the list goes on: Alan "Aldude" Swanson will add psychedelic keyboard sounds to the wall of sound. So will Kripa do, I guess.
If you're on Facebook and plan to see the show, tell us so on Tribe After Tribes event page! Thanks!
Hey, friends of Robbi! So I watched the Dave Matthews Band in Frankfurt (Germany) about two week ago. And while waiting for the band to get up on stage, I met one of the organizers of the Herzberg Festival. You might remember that Tribe After Tribe played there last summer.
Anyways, he told me this: Tribe After Tribe's live album with audio and video footage of last year's gig hasn't been released yet because of minor problems with the video part. I'm not sure he used the world "problem" - as far as I remember they're just not that experienced with video material. No big deal.
And he told me that ... *drum roll* .. Tribe After Tribe will headline the "Herzberg Party" @ The Fabrik in Hamburg (Germany) on May 22, 2010! Cool, eh?
One more thing: according to Tribe After Tribe's Facebook site, Robbi is busy writing a world music album. And he's in need of a vocalist that fits to his music. It seems as if he found somebody: Sussan Deyhim. I'll let you know if I get more details.
Update!!! Sorry folks, I've been way too quiet during the last few months.
So .. the Tribe After Tribe live album is still in the works. Robbi sent the entire audio and video material to the Herzberg Festival team a few weeks ago. And after they checked out the material they decided that this live album will be a double CD! Let me quote Robbi: "Herberg folks say DOUBLE CD! One will have just audio .. and the other will have high quality movies for you to watch on the computer." Sounds good, eh?
We're happy to announce that Tribe After Tribe's live album (recorded @ Burg Herzberg Festival 2009) is soon to be released! It'll be available at the
online shop from the festival team.
The album will feature 53 minutes of tribal rock (+ "Season Of The Witch") and a bunch of video clips for your viewing pleasure!
We'll keep you updated!
Jesus .. it's been a while! I owe you a some news straight from Robbi:
Robbi is "getting into the last few touches of mixing the live album". Other news is he has "started mixing Ted Quinns album and Amritakripa's new album, too".
Oh .. and Robbi pointed me to a video that appeared on youtube a few months ago. This video was used to promoted the Woodstock Festival 2009, but it features Tribe After Tribe's performance from 2008. Good stuff!
If you're a fan of Tribe After Tribe on Facebook, you'll have noticed that Robbi keeps us up to date regarding the live album / dvd! Anyhow, there's still a few of you out there who haven't joined the Tribe over there so I'll just cite Robbi here:
"we finished mixing 'Season Of The Witch' - which was close to 15 min long - we were so excited after the mix we just want to sent it out to everyone - it sounds massive!!! Also for those who do not believe in miracles - while watching the footage for 'Season' - we noticed a miracle ... it's right there on film and cannot be denied!!"
"Today is the last day of mixing and fine tuning 'Bury Me' which was the opening song of the Tribe set and clocked in just over 13 minutes. The huge ambient wall of sound created by Kripa and Robbi over Mahesh's steady tribal drum groove seemed to mix itself - adjusting the faders as needed like some kinda ghost in the machine!!"
Okay 'Bury Me' is done! Now we are working on 'Out of Control' - haven't felt this way about a rock and roll jam since I first heard the middle section in 'Whole Lotta Love' by Zeppelin - for those of you who know your music I would say it's kinda like Biosphere meets Pete Namlook meets Led Zeppeilin around a raging fire in some dark pagan African night!!!
Sounds promising, right?
A video that you might want to check out! Oh, and pay attention to the text that appears at the end of the video clip! :)
Check out Robbi's Herzberg Festival memories!
Tribe After Tribe goes Facebook!
From today on, you can join the Tribe on Facebook! I'll try to fill this site with useful content in the next few days. If you know how I can improve that page, drop me a note! Thanks!
Update:
Almost two weeks after starting the Tribe After Tribe Facebook
we already welcomed more than 150 fans. And the list grows and grows!
Tribe After Tribe rocked the Burg Herzberg Festival. The Tribe was the last band to enter the stage late Saturday night after the likes of Mother's Finest, the one and only Eric Burdon and the Derek Trucks Band. The set was a good mixture of tribal songs ("Boy", "Ice Below", "Out Of Control", "Bury Me", "Build A Subway") and cover songs known by almost everybody who watched the cool performance.
I sold a bunch of Tribe After Tribe t-shirts at the merch booth. Good quality stuff, that's for sure! Get yourself some cool Tribe After Tribe outfit @ Merch United!
It's time for an update, don't you think? Here we go: Robbi just sent me some info regarding the special line-up for the Burg Herzberg Festival:
Amritakripa - ambient keyboards / vocals
Kripa has been dedicated to chanting and devotional music for close twenty years. She also has been involved in various side projects with Robbi as ambient keyboard player and vocalist. Kripa's playing and speaking appears on the latest Tribe After Tribe album called M.O.A.B.. Kripa also wrote and designed a majority of the music for the new album with Robbi and is working with him on the new Tribe album.Tony Mason - Bass and vox
Tony arrived in Joshua Tree 15 years ago and worked with the late Fred Drake as an engineer at the Rancho de la Luna. Tony has since worked with and recorded the likes of Kyuss, Earthlings, Fu Man Chu, Nebula and Brant Borjk. Though Tony doesn't appear as a player on the M.O.A.B. album he was all through project closely aligned and served as a consultant throughout the recording process.Alan "Aldude" Swanson - Keyboards / vocals
Besides being a veteran keyboardist who over 40 years has played a wide variety of styles from jazz to punk (DNA) to blues (John Lee Hooker), Al is also a veteran mountaineer. We suspect that it is his love for being on the edge of mountainous heights that has honed his musical craft and given him an uncanny ability to pump up the jams. Al is always passionate about playing, whether it be in the seedy lounges of Vegas or at the sparkling folk festivals of Strawberry and Millpond, he always charms the snake!Mahesh - Drums and percussion
After playing in all sorts of rock oriented bands as a youngster, Mahesh wound up playing percussion for Amma's touring band before moving out to the desert. Amma is considered a living saint and is in Robbi's opinion one of the finest songwriters in the world. Besides being a steady rock drummer, Mahesh now brings this unique and valuable experience of sacred Indian music to Tribe After Tribe's driving psychedelic jams. Mahesh's hand drum work can be heard on the M.O.A.B. album. This line up has been put together especially for the Burg Herzberg Festival.
I'm very happy to announce that Tribe After Tribe will play at the
Burg Herzberg Festival on July 18, 2009!
This very festival is the German answer to Woodstock, so "German Woodstock" does fit quite well. The first event has taken place in 1968 - so last year the festival celebrated its 40th anniversary. A festival with a long tradition, apparently!
The Tribe will enter the stage late Saturday night / early Sunday morning 45 minutes after midnight! We'll see you there!
In India thousands of farmers are commiting suicide due to the stressful conditions ranging from drought
to debts and lack of education. There are no dams or reservoirs to hold water through these troubled times
and there are no funds to help the farmers through these challenges. In one story a young daughter of a
farmer was due to be married. But her father was ashamed to face the guests because he knew he could not
pay the dowry. So he committed suicide. Now it's a bigger problem for the family who have no means of
bring in money or the education to continue with the farming. Amma announced that the Mata Amritanandamayi
Math will commit approximately 46 million U.S.Dollars to tackle the problem of suicides by farmers of
Maharashtra, Kerala and other states. It is to this end that we are doing this fund raiser. To read more
please go to: www.amma.org.
In light of this fund Robbi will perform a jam on Hollis Brown a song by Bob Dylan. Says Robb:
"The lyrics are about a farmer who kills his whole family and is a one of the first long form Dylan songs that I learned as a Kid. (the first one was lonesome death of Hattie Carrol) For this fundraiser I want to take this song and build it up from a simple acoustic beginning to a mighty ambient wall of sound. If all goes well the performance of this piece should last about 30 - 40 minutes."Robbi will be supported by Amritakripa ambient keys, Tony Mason fixed guitars, Mahesh percussion and Al Swanson keyboards.
The other interesting news is that at the same fundraiser - Robbi will be do a live performance on the Rudra vina for the first time in public. Says Robb:
"I have no business playing this instrument - it is a subject that is just too deep for my rock brain. Anyhow Anahita and I will be playing while people come in to show sort of a background music. Anahita plays the Tampura. The raga that I will explore is one called Ananda Bhairavi. The Rudra vina also known as the bin (been), appears to be one of the oldest styles of vina. Such evidence is readily seen in elements of its construction, and from its depiction on the walls of ancient temples. This instrument is basically a bamboo stick with two gourds attached. (see the poster or click here) I believe the Rudra Vina is the great ancestor of the Guitar."
Amritakripa will be opening the evening with some chanting supported by Robbi on Saraswati vina and the last the performance of the evening Robbi will be playing with Ted Quinn and Rock Art who many of you met two weeks ago.
Robbi wrote a few lines about his friend Ted Quinn. Check it out!
Dear fans of Robbi, happy new year to you! Yup, I'm a little late, but apart from that album release party in January, it was a bit quiet lately. But now, there's news:
Ted Quinn wrote:
Robbi wanted me to fill you in on our show this weekend. It's my amazing band, as led by Robbi Robb. With the lovely Amritakripa on keys and harmonium, Tony Mason (Desert Sessions, Brant Bjork) on bass, Mahesh on drums and Patti Hood (Jon Anderson, Guns'n'Roses) on classical harp.
We play at Pappy and Harriet's world renown Pioneertown Palace Saturday Feb 28 at 10 pm (PST).

From Robbi:
Mama Afrika.
So we were in this quaint club in Hollywood somewhere it was Black music club one of the few if not the only one at the time in Hollywood. So I was there, Ray was there (Ray; who should have gotten a lot more credit for the Paul Simon productions than he did but that's another story) - I don't remember whether Paul Simon was there or not I do remember taking Cale my little friend who was bout 6 yrs old at the time, to the toilet and a guy who was the same height as him but many years older offered to take care of him for me this kind gentleman was Danny Devito.
Any how there was dancing and such and I did get to dance for Miriam who laughed wholeheartedly at my imitation of some of my Zulu dancer friends from South Africa. I call it the "PASSOP a snake" dance I'll show you sometime it's good for a laugh. Any how toward the end of the evening The press were out with their cameras and taking shots of all the celebs standing with Miriam I stood to the side and watched respectfully it was soo good to see Miriam so happy. Yea Mama Afrika!! And Ray too was beaming. Then Miriam told the photographers to hold on for a second and she summoned me over to the lime light spot and putting her arm around me she introduced me to the media surrounding her and said something like : "One day when South Afrika is free this young man and I will return and walk into a free South Africa, together, hand in hand." And she raised my hand up high and said Amandla and we answered Awetu.
Dear Miriam my Mother-sister in arms and in song - our beloved Mama Afrika, may the winds stirred up by the years of joy you brought to us on this plane of suffering, bear you ever closer to pure joy and perfect wisdom, in the song-filled heart of the great Mother.
I will always love you.

You gotta check out this wonderful video interview with Robbi! It consists of 9 parts (with each part being about 5 minutes long). Here's a first sneak preview to part I:
Letter to America Nov. 5 2008
Congratulations it seems in the hour of darkness once again you have lifted the up the world spirit. I am at this moment so very proud of you!
Barack Obama talks about the SACRIFICES we need to make in order to bring stability to our lives. This has made certain people fear that he is moving in a "SOCIALIST" direction. Firstly we need to understand the word SACRIFICE on its highest level and that is: The word SACRIFICE means "to make sacred". So if we focus on this aspect of the word rather than on the idea of having to "give up" stuff we will arrive at a very interesting conclusion.
The question then arises: What is it that we need to "make sacred"?
It is up to America to make America sacred. This means, every citizen's duty is to make his or her fellow Americans sacred, to the make the American soil sacred, the American worker, the American child, and the American constitution sacred. This point of view will make people more caring and more compassionate toward each other. The capitalistic pigs are bewitched by materialistic self gratification. This has led us into war, and into a financial crisis. To make your fellow Americans sacred, to care for them and to serve them to the best of your ability lifts the whole up beyond materialism and selfishness. Actually if you look at it through the eyes of Ann Rynd who is one of the architects of Republican philosophy (see her book the Virtues of Selfishness) then in fact making "sacrifices" is the most selfish thing you can do because; to make sure that your neighbor is happy and safe will make you happy and safe, to make sure that your neighbor is prosperous will make you prosperous, to make sure your neighbor and your fellow Americans are cared for both physically and spiritually ensures that you too will have access to these spiritual and physical means of welfare. To care for others is to care for your self.
Every man, woman and child is sacred. The animal kingdom is sacred, the environment is sacred, the atmosphere is sacred, the earth is sacred, health wealth happiness love and understanding are sacred. So these are the things we need to sacrifice, these are the things and these are te qualities we need to make sacred.
Again I am so proud of you. And am at your service as always!
Thank you for all you have taught me.
Robbi
Have you experienced the pimped Tribe After Tribe myspace site yet? You better do and enjoy the cool video player. Oh, and don't forget to check out the various videos in the videos section. They rock! Obviously! Because Tribe After Tribe rocks.
By the way, if you're a "friend" of the Tribe (on myspace, that is) chances are good that Robbi himself will add a comment to your profile. Since I gave him the login name and password, he must have spent endless hours (days?) adding comments to Tribe's "friends".
The Three Fish pages are back online. Enjoy!
Remo sent me a link to a youtube video that presents Tribe After Tribe @ Woodstock Poland 2008! It's here:

Plus, Megaforce Records will release M.O.A.B. in the United States of America on October 14!
And last but not least .. if you're in or near Gieίen (Germany): don't forget that Tribe After Tribe will rock the Herzberg Party on Saturday 20, 2008! Click here for more information regarding this gig!
To Hawkwind and Keyboard player Jason Stuart from Joshua tree.
Strange things in the desert. A few days ago I put Hawkwind on in my car and have been listening to them since. Yesterday, I excitedly thought I would look them up on youtube and I came upon this sad news that Jason Stuart had died how strange I thought - I haven't played these cd's of Hawkwind in almost a year how strange that I should play them on the very same day that Jason put on his wings.
On behalf of the band Tribe After Tribe I would like to send my highest thoughts and blessing to Hawkwind who have been separated from a great friend and musician Jason Stuart. I am terribly saddened by this news, and feel a great sense of loss. I pray that Jason will continue to serve us and inspire us from the subtle planes of the great mystery as he did here on this earthly plane. His playing always seemed to take us to those places beyond the veils of ignorance anyway - so I am quite sure he will soon learn how to make the trip the other way too! Whatever Jason chooses, - whether he chooses to be merged with the infinite, or to be with his beloved, or whether he makes that noble choice to reincarnate back on this planet so full of toil and trouble. We pray that he may accomplish his true will and that Love lifts him up to where he belongs!
So long brother man.
The Media section of Tribe After Tribe has been updated! Enjoy!
Have a look at this beautiful photo gallery (gallery 65 in "Bilder") taken @ the LOTT Festival.
Remigiusz and Artur pointed me to this gallery that offers a couple of pics of Tribe After Tribe's "great (!!!) performance" at the Polish Woodstock Festival!
I just returned from the wonderful the LOTT Festival!
The Tribe rocked for about 90 minutes and played a cool mixture of old and (many) new tunes. The boys had a helluva
lot of fun, although they were a little tired after a long (10 hours?) trip on German roads as they played the
Polish Woodstock Festival only one night before.
I tried to scan the Polish festival web site but couldn't find any photos of Tribe After Tribe's performance. However, I found this small interview.
If you have photo or video footage of these events, please contact me. Thanks!
The two winners of TWO TICKETS FOR THE LOTT FESTIVAL are
Ralf Petkau
Matthias Pindter
Congratulations! See you @ the LOTT Festival!
Tribe After Tribe's festival dates @ the Polish Woodstock Festival and @ the LOTT Festival get nearer and nearer!
The LOTT Festival makers emailed me and told me that TWO of you Robbi Robb fans can win TWO TICKETS FOR THE LOTT FESTIVAL. Just email me the name of LONGEST track from M.O.A.B. and you're in the lottery! The two winners will be announced here and put on the guest list of the LOTT Festival. Good luck!
Here's a little teaser for the "Holy City Warrior" video. Enjoy!

the way, he shares his birthday with two members of Tribe After Tribe - how cool is that? :)
Check out his little website!
Hans Rock took a couple of beautiful photos during the Tribe After Tribe gig in Frankfurt about two weeks ago. Check them out here!
The Tribe is currently on tour supporting Norwegian cosmic biker rockers WE. And while they have fun on stage I just received two new tour dates: Tribe After Tribe will play at the Polish Woodstock festival on August, 1st! This event is "the biggest open-air festival in Europe" - playing there in front of a helluva lot of music fans should be loads of fun! The second new gig is the "Herzberg Party" in Giessen, Germany on September, 20.
Robbi's call for unity in a grass roots campaign.
Robbi Robb has invited Amnesty International to the TRIBE AFTER TRIBE gigs in a grass roots effort to reach out for the support of our fans. Robbi is asking Tribe fans and friends to please spend a moment at the Amnesty table and, if it feels like someting of value, to please sign whatever petition you relate to and understand. Robbi notes that when he was getting into trouble in South Africa it was really encouraging to know that Amnesty was aware of him and his plight. He did not feel so alone but had a feeling that the world was behind him. There are many people across the world right now who are in this lonely place, being tortured, imprisoned for simply taking a stand for freedom, and being unlawfully kept from their families and friends. Please let's help these people by spreading the word and by increasing our awareness. We thank Amnesty International for this effort and for all their efforts in the past.
Still no idea what the Butter Thief Jam Band really is? Have a look!
From Robbi:
The Butter Thief Jam Band played the retro UFO convention at the Integratron in Landers just outside of Joshua Tree area on Saturday night. It was a fantastic gig - the band went on after a wild show by a man who walks on molten steel, swallows glass, puts a sword through his tongue that came out of the bottom of his throat! - It was outrageous! Any how there was a team of people from the Coachella festival who brought an auxiliary laser light show and beamed their art onto the Integratron while Butter Thief Jam Band played. It was great! The band played so well and the audience love it. The best compliment we got that night amongst many, was that we were the best band they had seen all day! (People who were at the Coachella festival during the day.) Some people we spoke to after the show were surprised and disappointed that the Butter Thief Jam Band weren't playing the Joshua Tree music festival. Oh well next time maybe. Thanks to all for a great gig!
Shine on

In other news, Robbi wrote an article that you can check out here.

And the Tribe After Tribe Press page just got a little bigger.
Hey friends and fans of Robbi! You might have noticed that the navigation bar has changed. I want to make navigating through these pages easier and I do hope that I've found a way with this new system.
Oh, and the Tribe After Tribe Press pages (formerly known as the 'Articles' section) are born. 3 reviews are online .. and many more are will be online soon! Enjoy!
Sorry, there's a small change in the Tribe After Tribe Tour section! The gig in Copenhagen won't take place, sorry!
By the way, I recently received a couple of Tribe After Tribe live shots taken in Hamburg about two years ago. Have a look!
Tribe After Tribe parts ways with IBD booking agent.
Due to a set of unforeseen circumstances Tribe After Tribe has decided to part ways with IBD. This decision should in no way reflect negatively on Sabine Waltz and her company IBD. Sabine is a hard worker and has an enormous amount of experience in the field and most of all she gives all she can to support her bands. Sabine has, beyond the call of duty, always provided most valueable council all through the years to the band on many different levels. Sabine has graciously offered to continue supporting us in these ways. Tribe After Tribe has no hard feelings or regrets and we have nothing but love and gratitude for Sabine and all the staff at IBD for all the work they have dedicated to our band over the years. May the Hidden Forces of the Limitless Light ever support and lift Sabine and IBD up to greater successes!

New Tribe After Tribe Tour dates!
As in 2006 Norwegian rockers WE are on tour and Tribe After Tribe will help them rock the venues! That sounds like fun, eh? We'll see you there!
The Robbi speaks section is back! There's not too much content in there right now as I still have to upload Robbis older articles, but: there's a new article that you might want to read.
Internal news: If you got an error while trying to add your profile to the Fans section .. this error is fixed! Thank you, Jens, for pointing me to the error!
Tribe After Tribe invited Amnesty International to the album release party and two members of this wonderful organisation made it to the show: Jens and Adelina. They spent a short time with the band, saw the show and became a Tribe After Tribe fan! During the show, more than 100 guests signed Amnesty International documents that might help to free three political prisoners in China, Cuba and Turkmenistan. So all in all, it was a very good time for the Tribe and for Jens and Adelina!
He put up a review of the show that you can check out here. I'll try to translate it as soon as possible!
The album release party for M.O.A.B., the new Tribe
After Tribe album, was a huge success! The band just rocked - it was a helluva lot of fun to see the boys perform.
The audience was very much into the music and wanted two enchores - many of the visitors were on the guest list and
didn't know the band at all. But Tribe After Tribe convinced everybody in the club so when the doors closed, about
50 new fans bought the album right there at the venue.
A fantastic night for Tribe After Tribe fans!
The list of good M.O.A.B. reviews gets longer and longer.

The bad news first:
M.O.A.B. will NOT be released tomorrow! This is no joke! It's not April 1st, after all! The new and final release date is April 4, 2008! So there is a delay of exactly one week. This is sad but .. see it this way: you keep on having something to look forward to for yet another week!
Anyways, on to the good news:
M.O.A.B. gets pretty good reviews so far.

Amritakripa also sent a video of the boys rehearsing. You can download it here!
A small update from Amritakripa:
Good things are happening here and the rehearsals are going well. The boys have a lot to do in a short time - not only are they preparing for the upcoming gig in Germany, but they also have to prepare for the music video which will be filmed in Los Angeles tomorrow. Nonetheless, the sounds coming out of the studio are fantastic and the show promises to be a real treat!!!
Gig? In Germany? Sure!! I hope to see you in Hamburg on April 4, 2008! This album release party will surely rock!
The sound files to M.O.A.B. are online! Check them out!
Plus, two complete songs are available for streaming pleasure at myspace. Enjoy!
March 2008! The new album will be out soon - very soon! And I know that many of you girls and boys out there are getting more and more excited because you know that M.O.A.B. rocks!

A new tour date! Tribe After Tribe's booking agency, IBD Booking, just confirmed a second date:
The Lott Festival in Raversbeuren / Hunsrόck (Germany) is also confirmed for August 2nd, 2008. More dates will follow. Tribe After Tribe will be available for summer festivals and some off club shows during the summer, a full European tour is scheduled for September / October 2008.
There's also news regarding the album release party in early April: The venue added the gig to their web site: Logo, Hamburg.
The album section of Tribe After Tribe keeps on growing. Once the already released albums are completely online I'm going to upload the details for M.O.A.B., Tribe After Tribe's next album that will be released in many, many European countries and the USA on March 28, 2008!
The album section of Tribe After Tribe is growing. I just uploaded the page for Echanted Entrance.
You will notice that the lyrics are back online. And you will notice that the three good old MP3 samples that used to be visible to logged in users only are visible to everybody now. But there's still a good reason to log in because I just uploaded MP3 samples to the other songs as well and these samples are visible to logged in users only.
Well, it's not clickable (yet), but .. the Tribe After Tribe album overview is online. And .. it features the artwork for the new album, M.O.A.B.!
Okay .. another section got online a couple of minutes ago: I welcome you to have a look at the media section. The press photos are waiting for you.
Robbi emailed me: "We will be rehearsing from the 15th of March and at the same time we will be making a music video!". How cool is that?
There's life in the Tribe After Tribe section now .. well, not much life yet, but: the new biography of Tribe After Tribe is online. Enjoy!
Welcome to the new layout over here on robbirobb.com! I hope you dig it! Please report ANY weird effect on your computer. Thanks!
Happy New Year, everybody! It's 2008, it's the year of the Tribe. A new album (March, 28) and a couple of gigs - there's a lot to look forward to!
