David Sylvian
As you can read in the transcript of the Yahoo chat, Robbi likes to work with David Sylvian. Well, I own one of David's albums and wondered why Robbi mentioned David. Their musical styles are pretty different. Here's what he answered:
"the funny thing is that after that interview i actually turned some work David Sylvian's way ... i was asked to do the music for a documentary for a guru Ammachi...i found out that guru Ammachi is also David Sylvians guru so i turned the director onto David and David is doing some of the music for them ... after that i got a phone call that David is trying to put a group together and would i be interested ... i never called back for some strange reason until two days ago ... so we'll see what transpires...
David Sylvian has a large catalog and there are maybe 4 or 5 songs out of all of it that i don't like and the rest is some of my most favorite music to listen to. he is innovative and multicultural and doesn't pander to the music bussiness ... i know that someday he and i will at the very least share a beer together."
