We arrived a little early in hopes to meet Robbi and the other Fish. Shortly after arriving, sure enough, we got our chance to meet them. Robbi, I would describe as a wonderful human being upon first impression. The others were very cool as well, and were happy to sign autographs. Then we filed into the venue to catch the tail of David Garza. They were good. He is the guy from that Best Buy commercial. I think that is funny.
Shortly after, some road crew started to set up a most beautiful stage. Three Fish come out. I was ready. They started with 'Shiva and the Astronaut'. I knew the rest was going to be excellent because of this wonderful performance. After that 'Transporting'. Next, Richard came up front grabbed a right handed guitar, flipped it over and played it left handed to 'Tremor Void'. I love that song! Then it was time for some old school Three Fish. 'Song for a Dead Girl'.
That song seemed a lot better live. 'All These Things', 'Silence at the Bottom', 'Timeless', 'Laced'. 'Myth of Abdou' followed with a duel between Robbi on the Oud and the percussionist. I'm not sure of his name, but this guy was tremendous. 'Once In A Day' and 'All Messed Up' rounded up a beautiful set by the Fish.
We cheered and yelled and they came back for a suprising encore which started out with 'Zagreb'. Then Robbi invited out their new friend David Garza to play guitar on 'Found A Window'. As if this wasn't enough, out came Doug Pinnick to lend a beautiful back up vocal on 'Resonate'.
I feel very fortunate to have seen Three Fish live. As well, I feel fortunate that they played so much old material, since I didn't get to see the first tour. Thank you Three Fish for a wonderful show, and a lot of people in Europe are waiting. In closing I must say that the most impressive part of the show for me was Richard's drumming. You Rock!
